Opera for the masses
Bayer Australia has supported the fine arts for many years. A new milestone in this successful cooperation is the company's support of Opera Australia — a commitment that enables employees and customers to enjoy important cultural events. This alone would not be reason enough for Bayer to provide financial support to the opera house, however. The artists also have an educational mission: they perform in isolated regions and in schools. Opera Australia's Schools Company alone performed to over 75,000 schoolchildren last year — a cultural experience made possible in part by Bayer.
Bayer Australia is also involved in a further cultural promotion project in the state of New South Wales. There the company provides financial assistance to a concert competition of the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra. Bayer's commitment here began back in 1994, with the company sponsoring awards for both talented young schoolchildren and older students.
