A focus on children
Young diabetes patients are at the center of an initiative launched by Bayer in Canada. With the help of the "Buddy" project initiated by Bayer, the children learn to deal with the consequences of their disease.
The company educates young people in Canada with a second initiative: thanks in part to a donation from Bayer, a charitable organization plans to expand its program of first-aid courses in high schools throughout the country.
Bayer is also donating money to five important cardiac hospitals in Canada to promote the recovery of patients. This project is part of Bayer's attention-grabbing "Heart Month" initiative, in which the company set aside a portion of its Aspirin sales in February 2002 to make the donation.
