Our mission focuses on global challenges

The global population is predicted to grow from seven billion at present to more than nine billion by 2050. This rapid increase demands immediate action in the areas of health, nutrition and the environment.

Consequently, appropriate strategies are urgently needed to keep the expanding population healthy. At the same time, the available resources for cultivating agricultural products – such as soil and water – are in ever shorter supply. The growth in global population also brings with it a continuous increase in energy requirements – a development that constitutes a major obstacle to efforts to improve the standard of living across the globe.

These challenges form the basis of our business and are focal points of our mission “Bayer: Science For A Better Life”.
