Social Initiatives
Italy
The three cornerstones of Bayer's social commitment in Italy are culture, sports and social activities. Support is given both to projects with a strong link to a particular Bayer site and to country-wide initiatives.
Bayer's promotion of sports in Italy focuses very much on supporting projects in the communities around Bayer sites. The company seeks to motivate children and young people from local schools to engage in sports, with the emphasis on the traditional game of badminton. Bayer Italy's film projects tend to be more national in nature: The film “L'amico Segreto”, which has received the patronage of the former President of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, campaigns for social responsibility in an entertaining and innovative manner; and a digital restoration of the famous silent film “Dante's Inferno” helps to conserve Italy's cultural heritage.
