Bayer Thai collaborates with the Bangkok city government

Major success in the fight against rats

The colors, scents and sounds of Bangkok's street markets make shopping in the Thai metropolis an unmistakable experience. Yet the health risks caused by the many rats that are common especially in the markets of the capital city are not to be underestimated. Rats carry diseases as they are infested with bacteria, viruses and other dangerous microorganisms. That's why Bayer Thai supports the local authorities in their efforts to bring this problem under control. Bayer experts teach employees of the city of Bangkok about safe and effective ways to control rats.

The "Rat Free for Health" project was launched in 2001 by the Bangkok city government. The initiative succeeded in ridding three markets of rats in the first few months, and the goal is to make 11 more markets free of rats in 2002.
