Venezuela
Help for native Venezuelans
One project that Bayer Venezuela supports with donations is the rural outpatient project "La Milagrosa" in the state of Bolívar. The doctors and caregivers of this facility provide dental care to about 5,000 people living in an area that is about three times the size of Luxembourg, at 8,000 square kilometers. Many of those living in the region are native Venezuelans belonging to the Panare tribe. The only medical care these men and women receive comes from the outpatient project.
The efforts of this facility are financed through donations. Bayer contributes to the successful work of La Milagrosa's doctors and caregivers, and at the beginning of 2002 has provided medicines free of charge.
