Bayer promotes women's advancement in the workplace
Bayer Corporation in the United States has been named a 2002 recipient of the Catalyst Award, given to companies implementing new and creative solutions for ensuring women's advancement in the workplace of the 21st century. The initiative "Bayer Women: Leaders of the Global Marketplace" focuses on preparing women from all ethnic backgrounds for wide-ranging tasks in a global company.
Since Bayer Corporation created the Delegate Career Development Program for female employees in 1997, nine of 19 participants have moved up between two and four levels in the management ranks.
Catalyst is a nonprofit research and advisory organization working to advance women in business and the professions, with offices in New York and Toronto. The American Institute of Philanthropy consistently ranks Catalyst as the highest rated nonprofit organization in the U.S. focused on women's issues.
