Bayer's corporate social responsibility has traditionally involved assistance for those in need and efforts to improve social conditions in all the countries in which the company is active. Important tools of our social responsibility include donations and support for long-term projects according to the principle "helping people to help themselves." Here we cooperate closely with both government institutions and non-governmental organizations.

Ambassadors for Contraception

6 ambassadors for the World Contraception Day 2015.

Six young men and women were recently appointed as World Contraception Day (WCD) Ambassadors: In the course of a three-year program initiated by non-governmental organization Women Deliver and Bayer HealthCare they will promote the goals of WCD – raising awareness for young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights including contraception. more

In several African countries, such as Ethiopia, Uganda, Zambia and Malawi, Bayer for many years has participated actively in the fight against malaria, which is transmitted by the Anopheles mosquito. Two projects give special grounds for hope. A bed net sets new standards in prophylaxis and in active substance research the foundations have been laid for a breakthrough in the fight against the insects which transmit malaria. more

Neglected Tropical Diseases

To combat neglected tropical diseases, many of which still threaten millions of people in many parts of the world, Bayer is working together with the World Health Organization (WHO). In particular, as part of its Access-to-Medicine activities, the company has supported the WHO in the fight against Chagas disease, which is widespread in Latin America, and African sleeping sickness for many years on the basis of cooperation agreements. more

Child labor is one of the biggest problems of our time: the United Nations estimates that between 100 and 250 million children around the world are forced to work – making a care-free childhood and a school education impossible. more

Disaster Aid
