Hermann Strenger Foundation

Scholarships awarded by the Hermann Strenger Foundation are aimed at specifically promoting international work experience for trainees. Particularly small or medium-sized companies that do not have affiliates outside Germany can thus offer younger employees an opportunity to gain career experience in a foreign country – an important qualification in a globalized economy.

In 1989 Bayer AG founded the “Hermann Strenger Foundation for the Promotion of International Work Experience” to honor its Management Board Chairman at that time, Hermann Josef Strenger.

With a scholarship from the Hermann Strenger Foundation, young employees up to the age of 30 who have completed a non-academic vocational training program can participate in a career-related internship outside Germany lasting between three and six months.
