Innovation and dialogue for agriculture
Bayer Crop Science's LifeHubs drive innovation through regional collaborations in global agricultural hotspots, focusing on farming practices and food security topics.
Addressing global challenges in agriculture through regional collaboration
Our LifeHubs are located at hotspots of innovation for agriculture around the globe and are at the core of Bayer Crop Science’s commitment to Open Innovation and Transparency. Through regional collaborations, we take part in discussions and initiatives related to agricultural practices, working with farmers in different regions on tools relevant to their needs.
Why are innovation and dialogue for agriculture so important?
As farmers around the globe are challenged to provide enough food for an exponentially growing population in the face of the imminent climate crisis, their need for new technologies is critical. Growing more food while considering agriculture's relationship with the environment is part of a broader shift.
Trust in the new technologies available to farmers is also critical if they are to have the impact on food production and our planet that we need to make our mission "Health for all, Hunger for None" a reality. Through the LifeHubs, we are committed to engaging in dialogue with the whole of society, not just the agricultural industry, to build trust in the innovation we need as a global community.
Our LifeHub Network
Each LifeHub is integrated into its regional ecosystem, adapting its activities to the local context while considering broader global challenges in agriculture.
Our LifeHubs are highly dynamic and continuously evolving in their approaches to drive innovation and dialogue for agriculture around the globe. Depending on the hub, our activities include incubation and acceleration of start-up companies, supporting the development of innovation ecosystems for agriculture, helping translate academic research in to applied technologies, stakeholder and societal engagement through dialogue, site visits and social media, increasing transparency by better enabling access to science and scientists at Bayer.
