Bayer’s Supplier Code of Conduct

Bayer’s Supplier Code of Conduct describes social, environmental and ethical expectations for collaboration with suppliers.
It refers to selected international frameworks and covers topics including ethics, labor and human rights, health and safety, climate and environment, quality, and governance. In addition, Bayer provides a guide with examples, reference materials and further information on relevant sustainability topics.

Commitment to Sustainability

Bayer demonstrates its dedication to sustainable practices by supporting a variety of global organizations, conventions, declarations, and initiatives that align with our Supplier Code of Conduct. Our commitment includes adherence to:

  • The Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) on Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-Corruption.
  • The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
  • The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

The Bayer Supplier Code of Conduct is grounded in a comprehensive framework of international standards, including:

The UNGC, the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the UNGPs, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, the UN Convention Against Corruption, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as well as the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal, the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
