Dr. Sascha Israel serves as Head of Digital Transformation and IT for the Crop Science Division of Bayer. Based in Monheim, Germany, Israel drives the digital transformation of all major functions within the Crop Science business including Commercial, Product Supply, R&D and Digital Farming to enable business strategy and growth. He is a member of the Crop Science Executive Leadership Team and the Global Information Technology Leadership Team.
Prior to his current role, Israel led the strategic integration of Bayer and Monsanto following the company merger in 2018. He previously served as the Crop Science Region Head for Asia Pacific, based in Singapore.
Before joining Bayer, Israel was a Partner at McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he served as the Leader of Agricultural Service Line for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before making Partner, he held several leadership roles at McKinsey & Company in Düsseldorf and Cologne, such as Associate Principal and Engagement Manager. During his time at McKinsey & Company, he earned his PhD in competitive strategy from Otto-Beisheim Graduate School of Management.
Israel is a native of Germany, where he lives with his wife and three children.
