Judith Hartmann
Dr. Judith Hartmann joined the Board of Management of Bayer AG on March 1, 2026. She will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on June 1, 2026.
Dr. Hartmann studied international business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, where she earned a master's degree and received her doctorate with honors in 1997. She joined The Walt Disney Company in Paris and then moved to General Electric (GE) in 2000. There she held various positions with increasing responsibility in both finance and operations in the US, Europe, and Latin America, including at GE Healthcare and GE Energy. In 2012, she joined the Board of Management of Bertelsmann taking over the role of Group CFO.
In 2015, Dr. Hartmann moved to global energy and services company ENGIE based in France, where she held various management positions, including Deputy CEO and Group CFO, as well as Interim Co-CEO. In addition to her global responsibilities, she also headed ENGIE's operational businesses in North America, the UK, and Ireland. In 2023, she became an Operating Partner at Sandbrook Capital.
In addition to her operational roles, Dr. Hartmann has extensive experience as a member of supervisory boards of major companies, including Unilever and RTL. She is currently a member of the boards of directors of Marsh McLennan, Ørsted, and Suez.
