Bayer applies the same high standards in all of its clinical trials, whether conducted by the company itself or by appointed agents at centers all over the world. All activities in this sphere comply with international guidelines, legislation and ethical principles and are carried out on the basis of authorizations issued by the responsible supervisory authorities.

The 1964 Declaration of Helsinki set down the internationally recognized fundamental ethical standards for research involving humans and has since been supplemented by various rules, regulations and codes.
