Home Science Experiments
Health and Technology Leaders of Tomorrow provides information on home science experiments. You can now conduct easy science experiments by using materials you already have at home to deepen your understanding of the structure of viruses, pathogenic principles and the science behind viruses.

What are coronaviruses and how does COVID-19 differ from other coronaviruses?
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that cause respiratory and intestinal illnesses in humans and animals. They are tiny germs, much smaller than anything you can see. They can make us sick, including fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties, but they can't do anything on their own — they need to live inside another creature (their host) to survive.
Why do people react differently to COVID-19?
Most people only develop mild symptoms after getting infected with COVID-19. A minority will get very ill requiring hospitalization. Elderly people and people with pre-existing conditions, are most at risk of developing a serious illness. However, some young and healthy people also get very sick while other people don’t have any symptoms. How can we explain these differences in response to the virus? Read More
