The first ketoenol crop protection product for foliar and soil uses

Plenexos Insecticide

Pests can go undetected, leading to substantial economic losses and decreased profitability. With the increasing pressures from these silent invaders, farmers need pest management solutions that address immediate pest pressure while supporting consistent, reliable performance season after season.

Plenexos is an advanced sucking-pest management solution that flexibly controls pests across life stages, application timings, and methods.

Plenexos, a cutting-edge ketoenol insecticide, is an advanced sucking pest management solution. It flexibly controls pests across life stages, application timings, and methods.

As a ketoenol insecticide, the product is taken up through a plant’s leaves, moves down to the roots and up again, providing all-around protection for the entire plant, including new tissue. This technology is part of Bayer's ongoing development of ketoenol-based crop protection solutions.

What makes Plenexos so unique?

The history of ketoenol insecticides spans decades and centers on one of their first discoverers, Dr. Rainer Fischer. To Dr. Fischer, Plenexos is "the best molecule I have ever seen" thanks to its flexibility and efficacy in controlling what can be troublesome, invisible pests that don't always show their damage before causing it.

Plenexos is the first ketoenol insecticide that allows for both foliar application on the plant itself as well as soil application. It's one of the technologies at the heart of our platform to deliver customized product offerings, addressing growers’ needs across crops and countries.

Targeting a range of sucking pests, Plenexos enhances integrated pest management strategies. It is effective against a range of sucking pests across multiple crops, including vegetables, orchards, soy, and cotton.

What's Next for Plenexos?

Plenexos is planned to launch in many more countries by the end of the decade, including key markets like Brazil, Mexico, and the US. It is designed to offer growers a pest control option that supports consistent performance across the season, as part of Bayer's broader crop protection portfolio.
