Engaging with Responsible Investors

ESG Investor Engagement

Mission statement in Baykomm

Bayer actively engages responsible investors on ESG and sustainability-related topics of interest and concern. Our focus is the link between sustainability and value creation, including the underlying risks, opportunities, and impact. For this purpose, the company offers reasonable formats, including bilateral dialogues, webinars, and roadshows. In addition, we participate in collaborative engagements with multiple investors simultaneously to facilitate constructive and outcome-based discussions.

Responsible Investor Compendium: Sustainability at Bayer

With our compendium we aim to give an overview about sustainability at Bayer. The topic selection builds on the engagements with our responsible investors and should always be read alongside the full disclosures in Bayer's Annual Report and Impact Report.

Sustainability Webinars and Engagements

Our Sustainability Update Investor Webinars aim to provide responsible investors with comprehensive updates on Bayer's sustainability efforts and achievements, highlighting our progress based on the latest reporting. We recognize that responsible investors are increasingly looking for transparency and accountability, and we aim to meet these expectations by showcasing not only our sustainability targets and underlying governance measures but also the innovative strategies we are implementing across our portfolio. By aligning our sustainability initiatives with value creation, we are committed to demonstrating how our efforts contribute to long-term financial performance while addressing critical environmental and social challenges.

The dialogue started in late 2021 and investors with more than €4.6 trillion Assets under Management1 were involved, including Generali Insurance Asset Management, Union Investment, and Northern Trust Asset Management. The engagement activities comprised topics like Environmental Impact Reduction in crop protection, product safety and stewardship in crop protection, and sustainability governance, amongst others.
