At Bayer, we are passionate in our mission to solve the world’s unmet urgent health and nutrition needs, which is particularly prominent among our country’s underrepresented populations. We believe the key to breakthrough innovation is bringing together unique perspectives which is why we’re committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture for all employees.

Through science-based innovation, we bring diverse voices together to make our mission Health for all, Hunger for none a reality for generations to come. DE&I—Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is the foundation for this vision. Through DE&I, we are working to identify ways our scale and reach across agricultural, pharma and consumer health can eliminate barriers to ensure equitable access for all. DE&I is integral to our decision making and foundational to our success.

The Elements of DE&I

Icon of Four People in Circle

Diversity: Our Unique Identities

Collection of similarities and differences that we each have based on innate individual characteristics, lived experiences, and learned customs, traditions, and other cultural influences.

Icon of two people standing on either side of a scale.

Equity: Fairness and Justice

Eliminating barriers so that people are treated based on their unique needs, circumstances and with consideration of historical and systemic inequities. It ensures that everyone has access to the same opportunities and requires consistent enhancement and re-evaluation of policies, practices, attitudes, and cultural messages to create and reinforce fair outcomes.

Interlocking Hands Icon

Inclusion: All Feel Valued and Welcome

Intentional and continuous efforts to create an accessible environment where people feel they belong and are enabled to be the best version of themselves, because their uniqueness is valued, talent recognized, and voices heard.

The Health Equity Collaboratory Series was born out of Bayer’s commitment to improve lives in the communities in which we and our customers live and work. In the first installment, Advancing Heart Health in the Community, we offer a closer look at barriers to cardiovascular health from the perspectives of those directly and disproportionately affected—communities of Black or African descent. For more installments, including the second session Advancing Access to Nutritious Foods, follow us on LinkedIn.
