Enrique Wehlen
Head of North America Sustainability, Safety, Health & Environment
Enrique Wehlen is the Head of Health, Safety & Environment for North America and HSE Business Partner for Crop Science. In this role, he is responsible for the safe and, compliant operations for all of Bayer’s facilities in the U.S. and that of its 20,000+ employees working in those sites and the business partner for the Crop Science Division for Health, Safety, and Environment. Prior to this role, Enrique was responsible for Luling site management which supplies more than 85% of the company’s global demand.
Enrique joined Monsanto in 2002 as the Latin American North Chem Operations Lead and, since then he has held multiple leadership roles across multiple regions in Seeds and Traits, Vegetables, and Crop Protection in the areas of planning, quality, operations, supply chain and overall product supply responsibilities.
Prior to Monsanto, Enrique’s roles included leadership responsibilities at Exxon Mobil in areas of engineering, marketing, JV’s administration, supply chain and manufacturing. Lastly, he directed the operations for the Mexico manufacturing facility for Lubricant and Petroleum Specialties as Site Manager for Mexico.
Enrique holds a Master’s in Business Administration from ITAM, and a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering degree from UIA. He lives in St. Louis, Missouri with his wife Adriana and three children: two boys and one girl. He enjoys the outdoors and likes to compete in triathlons.
