Bayer takes its role in supporting STEM education very seriously. After all, science is at the heart of everything Bayer does. It is the thread that runs through and connects all of Bayer’s businesses. As a global enterprise with core competencies in the Life Science fields of health care and agriculture, Bayer recognizes its responsibility to help improve science education and promote science literacy. Not only is a science-literate citizenry important to Bayer’s businesses, but also to America’s future economic strength and success. This belief is the impetus for Bayer’s Making Science Make Sense® initiative.

For more than 20 years, Making Science Make Sense has been advancing science literacy across the United States by supporting hands-on, inquiry-based science education programs, employee volunteerism, public advocacy, and local STEM-focused activities and events. Through national, regional and local partnerships, Bayer employees volunteer in communities where they live and work to engage with students, teachers, parents, business leaders and the public at large to support and inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators. Their commitment to service, focus on community outreach, and dedication to advancing science literacy is at the core of what makes Bayer a socially responsible neighbor and valued partner.
