Responsible Procurement

Bayer is Building Partnerships with a Diverse Supplier Base

Bayer is committed to fostering diversity within both its workforce and supplier base. Through our “Responsible Procurement” program, we aim to support economic inclusion for underrepresented communities. As part of our supply chain, we maintain business relationships with small and diverse businesses.

Program Overview

Bayer’s Responsible Procurement program is focused on expanding access to procurement opportunities. Bayer actively seeks to identify qualified businesses led by individuals who have historically faced barriers to full participation in the economy. This includes companies that are majority owned and controlled by women, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals, minorities, or other disadvantaged and underrepresented groups.

Our Commitment

We believe that diversity and inclusion are important drivers of Bayer’s success and can help foster innovative solutions within our supply chain. As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we maintain relationships with diverse suppliers.
Bayer fosters strategic partnerships with a broad range of suppliers. This includes expanding sourcing options and incorporating insights from a wider spectrum of suppliers. Our efforts to increase partnerships with small businesses and suppliers owned by women, people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and other underrepresented groups are part of our commitment in the area of Procurement.

Our Partners

Bayer collaborates with specialized organizations that support our efforts to identify small businesses, diverse suppliers, and social enterprises and promote educational, mentoring and networking initiatives. Through these partner organizations, suppliers may obtain formal certification as a diverse business. The organizations with which we collaborate are listed below.

Supplier Development

The Bayer “Momentum Supplier Development Program”, launched in 2025, is dedicated to supporting the growth and scalability of small, medium sized and diverse suppliers that work with Bayer. The program offers a structured curriculum covering key business areas, including leadership, sales and marketing, economic outlooks, innovation, financial management, operations, and process improvement, drawing on Bayer’s best practices. It includes interactive discussions and practical exercises designed to equip participants with tools and insights that can help strengthen their businesses and enhance their partnership with Bayer.
