In the Middle East, Bayer is represented by three subsidiaries. The regional headquarter Bayer Middle East FZE is a wholly owned and fully consolidated subsidiary of Bayer AG based in the Jebel Ali Free Zone of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with representative and scientific offices in Egypt, Jordan, Cyprus, and Saudi Arabia.
In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Bayer MaterialScience AG and Pearl Insulation Materials Industries LLC established a polyurethane systems house joint venture called Bayer Pearl in 2007. Moreover, Bayer has its own company in Iran.
In other countries in this region, Bayer’s products are marketed by distributors and third-party agencies. Bayer has more than 700 employees in this region and the various Bayer activities in the Middle East accounted for EUR 536 million in sales in 2011.
