Bayer CropScience is one of the leading and fastest growing crop protection companies in Pakistan. Bayer CropScience markets blockbuster "blue ocean" products such as Movento in cotton, Atlantis Super in wheat and Nativo in rice.

Bayer HealthCare Pakistan focuses on the research, development, marketing and manufacturing of innovative medicines and new therapeutic approaches, providing solutions for patients all over Pakistan and making a material contribution to medical progress. The research and business activities of Bayer HealthCare Pakistan are concentrated on four strategic business units: Women’s HealthCare, Specialty Care, General Medicine & Derma Care.

History

1963 - Bayer Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. incorporated in Pakistan on 25 June, 1963 as a private company registered in Karachi..

1964 - A plot of an area of 12,000 sq.meters was acquired by Bayer in S.I.T.E. Karachi and established its factory in 1964 comprising of solid, liquid, cream and injectable departments.

1986 - In addition to the pharmaceuticals wing, the PH-Agro Factory was also established in 1986 on an area of 625 sq.meters in the vicinity of the pharmaceuticals Factory..

1989 - The production transferred for third-party manufacturing to a national company named M/s Saitex Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd.

1995 - Bayer AG decided to re-establish new manufacturing facilities at C-21, S.I.T.E. Karachi meeting GMP requirements.

2002 - Bayer group acquired the worldwide crop protection business of Aventis and subsequently the name of the local Aventis CropScience Company was changed to Bayer CropScience (Pvt) Limited heaquartered in Korangi, Karachi.

2006 - Bayer AG acquired Schering AG in September 2006 including global operations. As a result, local ex-Schering Company, namely Medipharm(Private) Limited having factory at Kotlakhpath, Lahore came under the management control of Bayer Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.

The role of a mentor in "Rahbar" is to guide the mentee in his/her journey of self-discovery; encouraging the development of a sense of disposition and the capacity to deal with occasional failures that he/she may confront in life. Through this journey some wonderful relationships evolve.

In 2010 B-Responsible was the first Initiative of the B-Campaign, a CSR activity which was rolled out in collaboration with the very well-known NGO, The Citizens Foundation.

Employees took out 2 hours every weekend, to mentor children from different schools for 8 consecutive weeks in different parts of the city. This mentor-ship initiative was aimed at the development of young people as individuals and as responsible members of the community in which they live.

Emergency Response

Bayer helps flood survivors

After the flood of 2010 Bayer provided immediate relief in the form of medicines worth EUR 80,000. Bayer has made a donation in cash worth EUR 50,000 to Caritas Germany and UN Aid in Pakistan. These funds are being used for direct aid by the relief organization in Pakistan. Disaster aid workers of Caritas Pakistan are providing assistance in the form of food, emergency shelter, drinking water and water purification tablets to families who have been most affected. Health terms from the organization have been treating thousands at four mobile clinics and dispatching relevant medicines from the portfolio.

Also as part of Bayer's ongoing CSR initiatives, called B-Caring, Bayer cares, all Bayer Pakistan employees have been taking part in various volunteering efforts for the flood survivors. A close up look in Individual Employee efforts, various employees have joined hands and participated in different medical camps, providing medical relief and awareness about precautionary measures, to avoid further spread of the disease.

Bayer Pakistan strongly believes that we as an organization and as individuals have certain responsibilities that help save our environment, as our earth natural resources are limited.

In march 2011 Bayer employees united and participated in a global initiative "Earth Hour" to show our respect for the earth natural resources. All our valued employees at Bayer Pakistan took responsibility for their environmental impact and joined a growing international community who are committed to leading global environmental change.
