Bayer Thai Certified as High-Quality Seed Producers

Bayer Thai Co., Ltd. has received a plaque of honor and certification under the Q Factory Seed Program from the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, for its corn seed production site in Phitsanulok Province and its vegetable seed production center in Khon Kaen Province. The certification reflects the company’s strong production capability and compliance with internationally recognized seed quality standards.

Q Factory Seed Program

Mr. Rapibhat Chandarasrivongs, Director General of the Department of Agriculture, presented the plaque of honor and Q Factory certification to Mr. Tinnakorn Srivichai, Site Lead, Bayer Row Crops Seed Production Site, Phitsanulok-, and Mr. Phongpon Permsup, Site Lead, Bayer Vegetable Seeds Production Center, Khon Kaen.

The Q Factory Program is a quality certification scheme granted to operators with qualified facilities for the collection, inspection, and production of controlled seeds. Certified facilities are required to meet outstanding standards for safety, quality, and systematic production process control, while demonstrating responsibility toward society and the environment.

Khon Kaen

The Khon Kaen Vegetable Seeds Production Center serves as a fully integrated end‑to‑end production hub, covering the entire process from receiving seeds from a nationwide network of farmers, through cleaning and disinfection, drying, quality improvement processing, e.g. seed coating and priming, quality inspection, automated packaging, and laboratory analysis. Seeds are subsequently stored in temperature‑controlled warehouses, ready for export under the Seminis and De Ruiter brands to key global markets, including the United States, the Netherlands, China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Phitsanulok

The Phitsanulok Row Crops Seed Production Site specializes in the production of hybrid corn seeds under the DEKALB brand for both domestic distribution and export. This facility operates under internationally recognized quality control systems and is equipped with the Seed Health Test Laboratory and Seed Physiology Laboratory which have been accredited for pest inspection and seed quality by the Department of Agriculture in 2023 and 2025, respectively. Both laboratories play a vital role in effective inspecting of seeds for the application of phytosanitary certificates and re-export certificates issued by the Department of Agriculture.  This process not only reduces costs and approval times but also ensures the timely delivery and export of high-quality seeds to farmers in Thailand and around the globe in accordance with the conditions set by the Department of Agriculture and the import requirements of trading partner countries.

The receipt of the Q Factory certification further reinforces Bayer Thai’s commitment to delivering high‑quality seeds that support effective cultivation and productivity for farmers, in line with Bayer’s mission “Health for all, Hunger for none.” The certification also supports the Department of Agriculture’s policy to position Thailand as a World Tropical Seed Hub, strengthening the country’s role as a regional seed production center for Asia‑Pacific and global markets.
