This summer, our employees had the opportunity to purchase some of the office furniture from the Basel site at a discounted price for their home office. The proceeds of this sale amounted to around CHF 46,000.
This was to be donated to effective climate protection projects. In an internal vote, the choice fell on the following three projects of the myclimate foundation:
- Renaturation of Swiss Upland Moors
- Indigenous communities protect rainforest in Fiji
- Biogas Plants Reduce Methane Emissions (Switzerland)
Each of these projects was supported with CHF 15'333.30. This compensates 706.51t CO2. For comparison: A flight from Zurich to the Canary Islands (there and back) causes about one ton of CO2 per person. The respective confirmation certificates can be found below.
Contributing to sustainable development is a central element of Bayer's strategy and values.
