Bayer Basel: our strategic center
Basel is a key global site for Bayer. It is the location of the Consumer Health division’s international headquarters, the global center for the therapeutic areas of Pharmaceuticals, and the EMEA headquarters of the Crop Science division. Basel also hosts our Swiss corporate management functions.

Our activities in Basel
- Global Consumer Health hub
The Consumer Health division develops largely prescription-free (over-the-counter) products that promote health and well-being. The global hub has been located in Basel since 2016 and is run by Julio Triana, member of the Bayer AG Board of Management.
- Crop Science, EMEA hub
From Basel, we oversee our activities in sustainable agriculture and innovative solutions that help farmers boost yields, while protecting the environment. Our Swiss marketing and sales are also located here.
- Pharmaceuticals
Basel is our hub for the therapeutic areas of oncology, ophthalmology, hematology, and parts of the Women’s Healthcare business.
- Corporate management functions
Key central functions such as Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Legal & Compliance, IT and Communication are also based in Basel.
