Supporting Hawaii's Agricultural Backbone
 

The Hawaii Farmers' Disaster Relief Fund is a collaborative initiative organized by the Hawaii Farm Bureau and the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation, designed to provide direct financial assistance to farmers impacted by natural disasters. The fund helps cover immediate needs such as replanting costs, equipment repair, and infrastructure restoration.
 

"Our farmers are the backbone of Hawaii, and seeing the devastation caused by these storms is heartbreaking," said Becky Ryan, Hawaii Breeding Lead at Bayer. "We know how much hard work goes into every acre, and we want our neighbors in the agricultural community to know that Bayer is here to support them as they begin the long process of rebuilding and replanting."

Employees Amplifying Impact Nationwide

Beyond the corporate donation, Bayer employees across the nation are utilizing the Bayer Fund employee donation match program to further support Hawaii's recovery. Through this program, employee contributions are matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact of their generosity. Employees nationwide can direct their matched donations to the Hawaii Farmers' Disaster Relief Fund, Hawaii Red Cross, or the Hawaii Food Bank.
 

Raising Awareness Through Community Partnership

The severe impact of the storms on local agriculture was recently highlighted on Sustaining Hawaii, a radio show/podcast sponsored by Bayer. Brian Miyamoto, Executive Director of the Hawaii Farm Bureau, and Denise Yamaguchi, Founder and Executive Director of the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation, discussed the flooding's devastating effects and outlined how their organizations are delivering critical aid to affected farmers.
