U.S. Chief Financial Officer
Brian Branca is U.S. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Bayer U.S. Brian leads all financial and administrative operations for Bayer’s U.S. businesses, collectively representing $14.5 billion in annual revenue. In his role, Brian provides guidance and financial governance to shape and execute business strategy and development to drive growth in the U.S. He has responsibility for finance, tax, treasury, accounting, controlling, commercial support, procurement, risk management, facility/office management, security, real estate and post-merger integration.
Since 2018, Brian was a key member of the U.S. CFO Leadership Team as Vice President and Treasurer, U.S. He led the team responsible for cash management and liquidity planning to ensure financial resource availability to implement the business’ strategy effectively and efficiently. Brian’s team was also responsible for retirement plan investments, risk management and insurance. In addition, he led a team across a diverse set of functions also including real estate, facilities management, and general and employee services. During this time frame, Brian successfully led efforts to build and integrate teams in his functions as part of the Bayer-Monsanto integration to meet effectiveness and efficiency goals.
Brian joined Monsanto Company (now Bayer) in 2006 as a manager in internal audit. Since then, he has held key leadership roles including as CFO of Climate Corp (2014-2016), Monsanto’s digital agriculture company, along with other regional and global leadership roles of increasing scope and responsibility in finance, audit, mergers and acquisitions, long-range planning, product management/marketing and treasury. Overall, Brian partnered closely with senior leadership across diverse business areas throughout his tenure on successful strategies, projects, integrations and business-focused recommendations to deliver growth and efficiency.
Prior to joining Monsanto Company, Brian held leadership positions in the banking and accounting sectors at CitiMortgage and Deloitte & Touche, LLP.
Additionally, Brian is committed to giving back. He holds leadership positions with business, education, industry and community organizations both locally and nationally – Better Business Bureau Board for Directors, Evans Scholarship Alumni Association, Conference Board Treasurers Council Executive Committee, United Way Leadership Circle, Boys Hope Girls Hope Board of Directors, and Youth Basketball Coach.
Brian earned a BS in accounting from the University of Missouri, where he was an Evans Scholar, and an Executive MBA from Washington University. He currently lives in St. Louis with his wife and two children, and can usually be found at a field, court or diamond cheering them on.
