Beth Roden

Beth leads the divisional and corporate Communications teams in supporting the U.S. organization’s efforts to accelerate growth through broader transformation efforts while continuing to build Bayer’s reputation in the U.S. She also leads communications for Consumer Health, North America.


Beth previously held the position of Senior Vice President and Global Head of Communications for the Crop Science division of Bayer AG, a position she held beginning in 2015. During this time, Beth oversaw the development and implementation of Crop Science internal and external communications strategies for issues management and strategic business initiatives that supported the growth of the business and enhanced the company’s reputation in the time leading up to and through the Monsanto acquisition and integration.


She led a team of communicators to educate, engage and activate stakeholders through storytelling to maintain Bayer’s freedom to bring new technologies and services to farmers around the world.


Beth’s tenure at Bayer began in 2004 and has seen her holding various positions in internal and external Communications in the U.S. and North America. Before joining the global Bayer organization, Beth was Director of Communications for the U.S. Crop Science organization and regional coordinator for North America. In this role, she drove an integrated approach to communications that simultaneously achieved business goals and supported the development and growth of employees.


Under her leadership, the award-winning North American Bayer Bee Health Program helped Bayer further educate the public about pollinator health and the important relationship bees and other pollinators have with agriculture. As a member of the North American Executive Team, Beth led the culture and change management program for the North American Crop Science business and sat on the Bayer USA Foundation board.


A 25+-year communications veteran whose career spans non-profit, corporate and associations, Beth has led high-performing teams and brought award-winning campaigns from concept to reality, including the Youth Ag Summit, a unique program that connects and empowers the next generation of agricultural change-makers. Beth was named among Ragan’s Top PR Women of 2019.


Beth received a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and journalism from St. Bonaventure University in Upstate New York.


Prior to moving to Germany, Beth was an active member of her community, serving on the board of Passage Home in Raleigh N.C., and playing a leading role in Bayer’s charitable efforts as a former board member of the Bayer USA Foundation. She’s been recognized for her work in the communications profession and for her community efforts, including in the Triangle Business Journal, which recognized Beth among its Top Women in Business in 2013.


Beth is the proud mother of three daughters. As a family, they enjoy spending time at their lake house in North Carolina as well as traveling to experience new cultures.
