Marina Hong
Senior Vice President, Head of Human Resources U.S.
Marina Hong is Senior Vice President and Head, Human Resources, Bayer U.S. Marina has responsibility for developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction for the Bayer U.S. business across all three divisions and enabling functions.
Marina joined Bayer in February of 2021, as Vice President Human Resources, Pharmaceuticals Americas. In this role, she served as the strategic HR business partner, leading a team of HR professionals to support the division of more than 7,000 employees to accelerate business growth through a performance culture and futureproof capabilities. Marina led efforts to reshape the HRBP organization to be more effective for internal partners and become a career destination for HR colleagues, including solution-building discussions to ensure smooth delivery of HR services, building up the commercial organization for product launches and a Trust & Speak Up Culture with colleagues and stakeholders.
Marina joined Bayer from Becton Dickinson where she held roles of increasing responsibility across business units and disciplines including developing people strategies, driving inclusion and diversity, supporting acquisition and integration, organization design and development and driving HR innovation. Her leadership roles included leading globally for the Integrated Diagnostics Solutions business unit including the efforts to accelerate both capabilities and colleagues for the creation and Emergency Utilization Authorization of the COVID-19 BD test kits (both molecular and rapid).
Prior to Becton Dickinson, Marina spent 9 years with the Linde Group in various global and regional HR leadership roles supporting the business, and leading compensation and benefits.
Marina earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with focus on Human Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin and a graduate diploma in Personnel Management from Singapore Institute of Management. Marina is fluent in several languages and has given her time to serve organizations focused on coaching and leadership, training and economic development.
Marina lives with her husband and family in New Jersey where she enjoys hiking, traveling and cooking different cuisines.
