Monarch Butterfly Kits Giveaway at Pearlridge Center

Pearlridge

Bayer Hawaii, in collaboration with Sharing the Butterfly Experience, is once again hosting a Monarch Butterfly Kit giveaway at Pearlridge Center Uptown this July. Families are invited to visit Bayer’s booth in Mauka Center Court on Saturdays—July 5, 12, 19, and 26—from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Each Saturday, five kits will be given away, totaling 20 kits for the month.

Each Monarch Butterfly Kit includes two live caterpillars and crown flower plants, the primary food source for monarchs. This initiative offers a hands-on learning experience about the crucial role pollinators play in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Monica Ivey, Corporate Relations Lead at Bayer Hawaii, stated, “At Bayer, we’re proud to support positive learning experiences that connect families with science in meaningful ways.”

Darlene Doo-McDowell, founder of Sharing the Butterfly Experience, shares her excitement: "Witnessing the community's growing enthusiasm for monarch conservation over the years has been truly inspiring. With Bayer's continued support, we're thrilled to once again offer these kits and encourage everyone to play a role in helping these important pollinators thrive."

Visitors can enter the giveaway by stopping by Bayer’s booth during event hours. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing to claim their kit, and no purchase is necessary to participate. While at the booth, don't miss the opportunity to pick up a free copy of "Hawaii’s Farm to Table" activity book, designed to engage children and families in learning about local agriculture.

Bayer Hawaii previously distributed 30 free Monarch Butterfly Kits at the Maui AgFest & 4-H Livestock Fair on Saturday, May 31, at the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku. The event attracted hundreds of visitors to the Bayer booth, and many keiki were delighted to win a kit!
