Bayer paid 141 million euros in corporate tax to Finland in 2019
Bayer paid a total of 141 million euros in corporate income tax to Finland in 2019. The total figure consists of the combined taxes of Bayer Nordic SE in Espoo and Bayer Oy in Turku. Bayer invests about 80 million euros in Finland each year, and the company recently published a significant additional investment of 35 million in the Product Supply Center in Turku. So far this year Bayer has hired over 100 employees in permanent positions in Espoo and Turku. The recruitments will continue actively in the last quarter of 2020.
Bayer is one of the biggest corporate income taxpayers in Finland. Last year Bayer paid a total of 141 million euros in corporate income tax, consisting of the combined taxes paid by Bayer Nordic SE (131.344 M€) and it's subsidiary Bayer Oy (9.743 M€).
Considerable taxes and strengthening of the local functions with further investments reflect Bayer's commitment to Finland. The Supply Center in Turku is one of Bayer's most significant pharmaceutical plants worldwide. Products are exported to more than 130 countries, and in 2019 the sales of the IUS family exceeded 1.2 billion euros.
Combined taxes from the last decade exceed one billion
Bayer established the headquarters for its Nordic organization in Finland in 2011. In addition to Finland the region consists of the Baltics and other Nordic countries. Between 2011 - 2019 Bayer has paid more than one billion euros in corporate tax to Finland. Bayer Nordic's CEO Miriam Holstein is proud of the corporate social responsibility shown by Bayer.

According to Miriam Holstein, from a global pharmaceutical company's point of view Finland provides a good environment for investments, developing new products and production. Finland's investment in education and innovations also receive accolades.
