Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Reporting on our Progress

Results and Progress Reviewed by External Experts.

Bayer aims to verify that it uses the CFT calculator in a reasonable approach and that the baselining and performance tracking methodology is adequate.

The main objective of this report is to document how Bayer Crop Science (BCS) is quantifying field Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and soil carbon sequestration. More specifically, this report documents how BCS compiles inventory data and conducts a GHG impact assessment based on the internationally recognized and empirically validated Cool Farm Tool (CFT) calculator.

This page is home to the report (and future iterations) which have been reviewed by the expert panel. Here, the second cycle review report can be found, containing information on the strategic intent, why Bayer has decided to communicate the commitment, a description of the scope of baseline methodology, in addition to interpretations of the data, along with information on how Bayer intends to further develop this reporting system based on the ISO 14040 and 14044 frameworks.
