Our dedication to the mission is reflected in substantial investments in research and development, which fuel ongoing innovation across agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and personal health. We are strategically focused on agricultural productivity and new options in crop protection. Our strong positions in key therapeutic areas such as cardiology, oncology, and women's health, alongside iconic consumer health brands that address essential needs like allergy relief and nutritional supplements, are a direct result of our commitment to excellence in science, research and innovation.

In 2025, we spent €6,035 million before special items on R&D to drive innovation for our customers, patients and farmers. Approximately 15,000 Bayer scientists work in research and development sites around the world, focusing on health or agriculture.

Through our Life Sciences Collaboration Program, Bayer's internal interdisciplinary R&D innovation fund, we aim to harness the diversity and bottom-up creativity of all Bayer scientists to advance novel technology ideas across all R&D functions. The program also supports various cross-divisional scientific communities to foster co-creation and scientific exchange.
