I’ve always been passionate about health and living well, but my passion for healthcare became deeply personal the day my dad told me his new glasses “just didn’t work”. Everyone needs purpose in what they do. For me, it’s having an impact on patients’ lives. Dad, I’m inspired by you.”

Anna Braeken, Bayer’s Head of Ophthalmology, knows first-hand the devastating impact a neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) diagnosis can have on a loved one. When her father was diagnosed with AMD, she found that her father didn't have all the information he needed. It made her realize how critical education is not just for patients, but for the people that care for them. Her dad’s diagnosis and experience gave Anna deep purpose to improve outcomes for patients experiencing vision loss worldwide.
