Jonathan D. Moreno
Jonathan D. Moreno is Professor of Medical Ethics & Health Policy and History & Sociology of Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and has served as staff member or adviser to many governmental and non-governmental organizations, for instance the UNESCO International Bioethics Committee, three U.S. presidential commissions, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In 2008-09, he served as a member of President Barack Obama’s transition team.
Jonathan Moreno received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis, and holds an Honorary Doctorate from Hofstra University. He is a recipient of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities Lifetime Achievement Award.
