Bayer Crop Science Canada Expands Herbicide Solutions Huskie® PRE and Velocity® m3 in Eastern Canada

Calgary, AB  — Bayer Crop Science Canada announced registration of Huskie® PRE and Velocity® m3 herbicides in Eastern Canada. The addition of both Huskie® PRE and Velocity® m3 to the lineup of Bayer cereal herbicides offers Eastern Canadian farmers unparalleled weed control solutions for their cereal fields.

"The registration of Huskie® PRE and Velocity® m3 in Eastern Canada is a milestone for growers across Canada,” says Greg Good, Marketing Portfolio Lead for Crop Protection East. “Each of these herbicides add to a grower’s toolkit of herbicide options to take on the specific weed challenges they are dealing with in their fields. We’re proud to provide these herbicide innovations, as farmers will now have more options to help with season-long control of these weeds, and not only increase their yield - but contribute to healthier crops.”

Broadleaf weeds significantly diminish cereal yields, and emerging weed resistance issues, specifically Canada fleabane, demonstrates that in-crop application is not always enough. Huskie® PRE is a one-of-a-kind herbicide with powerful Group 6 bromoxynil and Group 27 pyrasulfotole. Huskie® PRE works effectively alongside Roundup® to provide robust control over a wide range of challenging weeds.

With Velocity® m3, Eastern Canadian growers can now confidently combat 32 tough broadleaf and grass weeds through its advanced formulation technology that combines three different modes of action at once (Groups 27, 6 and 2). By targeting a broad spectrum of weeds, Canadian growers can ensure critical crop protection while enhancing yield potential.

"We’re committed to supporting our Eastern Canadian growers by providing transformative solutions for their crops,” says Good. “Huskie® PRE offers cereal growers efficiency and reliability in combatting tough to manage broadleaf weeds through its impressive modes of action, and with every moment counting on the farm, our growers can reduce the need for multiple applications thanks to the efficient weed management of Velocity® m3 – ultimately maximizing their overall productivity.”
